A Community Hub

Southern Fresh Farms transcends the conventional notion of a farm. It has become a cherished community hub, where families gather to reconnect with the roots of their food, engage with rescued farm animals, and partake in educational programs. The farm's commitment to agro-tourism has turned it into a local destination, offering an immersive experience that extends beyond the mere cultivation of crops. This is not just a piece of land; it's a living, breathing entity that fosters community spirit and agricultural appreciation.

Who is behind Southern Fresh Farms

Robert and Shelly McMahon started Southern Fresh Farms on the FIVE acres they bought in 1980. In 2015, they started their Agro-Tourism Park to educate Lee County, Florida on the vital role that agriculture holds in everyone’s life in all capacities. From clothing, textiles, furniture, to name a few - the most important being FOOD!

About our farm

Technology enables us to cultivate food both vertically and on the ground, utilizing stacked towers for lettuce to maximize acreage yield. Our fresh produce is exclusively available at our market.

In line with our dedication to agricultural education, we organize educational field trips for students ranging from pre-K to college, sharing over five decades of agricultural expertise. Currently, we engage with students from Lee County Exceptional Learning every week through a work-study program.

Operating as a non-profit 501(C)(3) entity, our primary focus is on education and advocacy for agriculture in Lee County, Florida. From bountiful harvests to caring for our rescued barnyard animals, our aim is to underscore the significance of agriculture in all its aspects.
